Signing of UniSA Funding Agreement

The Institute of Surveyors Australia, South Australia Division Inc (ISASA) remains committed to the growth and development of future surveyors and the surveying industry.

In August 2019 The renewed Education Funding Agreement between ISASA and University of South Australia has been signed for 2020 – 2024 committing a further $500,000 to the education of Licensed Surveyors in our state taking our total of industry funding to $1.9m.

A look at ISASA and UniSA Education Funding History;

In 2009 the UniSA / ISASA Education funding partnership began for the education and training of young graduates for the benefit of the state.

The Average age of Licensed Surveyors in Australia and South Australia was then 55 years.  Today in South Australia 58.5yrs increasing the longevity of Surveying as a career. South Australia currently supports 128 Licensed Surveyors and 24 Registered Surveying Graduates.

In the last renewal period 11 Licensed Surveyors in South Australia retired from the 2019-2020 licensing renewal period. We now have 128 Licensed Surveyors. Educating and training a graduate to licensed takes 5 years.

Licensed Surveyors are the only people who can sign off on land, cadastral surveys. Surveyors represent the oldest profession in the world and they continue to adapt to change incorporating the latest in technological advancements.

As a profession per capita SA leads all professions in industry support to future surveyors and we are excited to see the relationship with UniSA and ISASA continue for the benefit of the South Australian Surveying industry and infrastructure.
